The unique Kodak EasyShare V570

There are a few features that make Kodak EasyShare V570 distinctive: The camera has double Schneider Kreuznach C-Variogon lenses. (There is 5.0-megapixel CCDs to go along with each lens, though they are located inside.) It is not a novel camera having fangled specialty with binocular or 3D image capture but an ultracompact digital camera that provides the advantages of wide-angle and a 5X zoom lens in one device as well. The blend is very convincing; however Kodak had to concede some feature to provide this photographic adaptability.

In its merchandise instructions, Kodak states that the camera has a 5X optical zoom from 23mm to 117mm (figures given are a 35mm corresponding). In reality, there is one set lens at 23mm that allows you to zoom digitally. The actual zoom lens is a 39- to 117mm zoom that is a 3X optical, or incessant, zoom. So, when you separate the digital zoom, the screen picture on the LCD starts from 23mm to the much nearer 39mm. Hence according to my view at the time when Kodak states that the optical zoom lens turns out in total 5X optical zoom range, it is not being completely correct about the procedure.

The only other feature that we were not fully content with was the piece of information that there is a big leap from the 23mm wide-angle lens to the beginning of the zoom range at 39mm. We would have preferred to have the zoom lens range to beginning at 35mm or lower. Furthermore, at $399.95 straight, the V570's a bit on the expensive side.

The camera has the distinctive feature of having two lenses. The best point of the camera is the 23mm wide-angle view that gives versatile finish to any picture. The camera looks like the latest V-series cameras. The 2.5-inch LCD works well as a glass viewfinder, which is not there.

The Kodak EasyShare V570 gives the facility of shooting 30 frames in a second. The use of the 3X optical zoom at the time of shooting and capturing video with the 23mm fixed lens is great.

Generally the exposure was very well, but it did blow out a few of the highlights. The flash is not up to its mark and it made a lot of noise and it is also not strong enough. The color came out rather well, but the image a quality is rather average.

The recycle time in the resolution test was good and it takes just 1.2 seconds to reset between shots. Regrettably, we there are a few shutter lag in the camera.

Though the V570 qualifies as an excellent camera for an ultracompact, it is not easy to compare it with other cameras as it has the unique feature of dual-lens construction. Nevertheless on the basis of the testing it did not attain the rank of an Editors' Choice
